Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year. Let me introduce myself, my name is Perin Wong and I am the principal of the London Chinese School. Greetings to all students back and in particular, I extend a special welcome to our new JK students and the new High School Cantonese Class.

This year is an especially exciting year for our Mandarin JK-Grade 8 students, as they will enjoy the new textbooks and E-Pen computer program that is also enjoyed by many Chinese Schools in Canada as well as the United States, Australia and New Zealand. The textbooks are not only specially designed for Chinese-born overseas students but also for those who are of a non-Mandarin speaking background.

After many negotiations and meetings , I finally secured a sponsorship of these textbook, music CDs and E-Pen computer program free of charge for the school. The E-pen computer program does not only allow our students to summarize all the chapters of their textbooks, but also learn how to type in Chinese. The music CD can also stimulates learning interest for our students and parents can now also participate with their child’s learning through the Music CD and the E-Pen computer program at home.

As an International Language Program operated under the London District Catholic School Board and the Centre For Lifelong Learning , we set a high standard in teaching Chinese to our students but most importantly provide an opportunity in our faith journey.
